Should I buy a stuffed animal?

My feline positive cat has a guest room upstairs. I spend between one and two hours with him every day, but I know it is lonely for him. I don't think he would accept another feline positive cat as a companion.

This evening I saw a photo on a cat breeds site of a Maine Coon Cat lying with a
small baby doll in its arms. I was thinking I might find a stuffed animal or doll for
my lonely cat. Has anyone ever had a cat that treasured a stuffed toy the way some
dogs do?
