Does anybody know of a bird that could hang out on a stucco wall of a home? A few days ago I noticed a large bird dropping stuck on the side of my home. At the time I thought it must have been an unfortunate wind, lol. Today I noticed that there is now a pile of bird droppings at the foot of the wall. The spot is where two walls come together and it looks like whatever is hanging out there is probably doing so right under the eaves. There is no sign of a nest.
The droppings are large, larger than a robins or pigeons. (just saying that for size idea, not that I think a robin or pigeon would hang out on the stucco.)
CLOSED: Which bird could be doing this?
A woodpecker?
Try going out at night with a torch, I guess!

I agree on the woodpecker. I have a place in SE AZ and Northern Flickers make a habit of hanging under my eaves at night during winter.

you just amaze me! We do have woodpeckers including Northern Flickers. Do Northern Flickers ever drum? Because now that you mention it, I remember a while back I was awakened by the drum from a woodpecker and the sound would have come from that area. These droppings are large, looks to be too large for a smaller woodpecker like the Ladderbacks.
I just did a search on "do Flickers drum"
they do indeed :-)
