I used to feed pigeon food from agway (very expensive) which would be okay if they ate it. They don't eat half of the mix. I used it for years so it's not like I didn't give them enough time to try it. I threw more uneaten seed to the chickens and wild birds then the pigeons ate.Now I give them a mix of wild seed (they don't eat the white millet, only red) whole shelled sunflowers which is there favorite, cracked corn, safflower and turkey crumbles. It would be so much easier to find an all in one mix they would eat. I'm open to suggestions.
Does any one have suggestions on pigeon food?
Bump up.....
All I know about feeding pigeons is that they used to love the sweet feed that we fed the horses - a mix of corn, oats, barley and molasses. I have no idea whether it was nutritionally complete for them or not.
Sorry, still alittle new at this. Don't know what bump up means.
I'll give the sweet feed a try. We have horses eating that so we'll see what happens. Thanks.
Hi sugarbell.
"Bump up" is just entering something, anything, so that the thread moves back up to the top. That way, if someone has advice to offer, they will be sure to see it. Sometimes a thread gets buried before anyone can answer it.
