potatoes in plastic mulch?

Has anyone attempted to grow potatoes in plastic mulch? If so, how much earlier can you plant them? We grow all our warm season veggies in plastic mulch (we're farmers marketeers) but haven't tried potatoes, only sweet potatoes. Any advice is most welcome!
