During the 4 day freeze earlier this month, the temperature dipped down to 30ºF for a brief period when one propane tank ran dry and before I connected the other tank. The leaves and blooms/buds on Brugs around the periphery showed frost damage by the following day. Others are just now sporting some yellow or brown leaves, but are bouncing back and are blooming. Those near the middle must have stayed above freezing because they don't have any damage at all. Dorthea was one of those. She has 2 large pale blooms. This photo shows off her long, long tendrils.
Oops. I didn't rotate the photo before posting it.
Blooms and Pods
That is great news!!!! Beautiful blooms.
Janice
Rubirosa is located near the edge of the greenhouse and shows some frost damage, but is blooming and has 2 Rubirosa x Wild and Crazy pods. Her pods are the 2 on the left. The 2 pods on the upper right are Maya pods. I know those 2 are probably a waste of energy, but I'd still like to try a few of the seeds.
Betty, those are some nice pods you have growing. I'm glad you survived the freeze with minimal damage.
I hope they produce some beauties for you!

I heat mine but then you never think of the eletric going out for hours it happens. Pretty blooms I did loose my pods but I have high hopes for this year! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks everyone. I saw more buds yesterday while I was watering my Brugs. I'm excited because I didn't see blooms before late August last year due to the heat and grasshoppers.
