a friend of mine just bought lumber to build a chicken house with chicken boxes.
I think the back of the house should be so you don't have to enter the pen/chicken yard to gather eggs.
What do you all think and is there a good plan that is free anywhere on line?

I would agree. DH built one years ago like that. A door would lift where I could access the nests to pick eggs, clean them out or be on the look out for snakes before reaching in.
