You're good, I think.
If that is out in the weather you might consider sealing the cut top (dripping candle wax on it is fine), so the water doesn't pool in it when it shrinks a bit. You should see new growth from the leaf scars come spring.
I would still protect from the cold.
Good luck!

pat that brown ring is hardwood. you have cut enough.

it a good thing to have to cut into a plumeria at least once. we are used to seeing cuttings w/o wood that some people have thought they still had rot when seeing the hardwood. : (

i am a tad confused though. is that cut there higher up or is it the base?

the piece that's up against the chair is from the 10' plumie, right? did you start cutting in the middle? that's why i am confused. i thought that you were cutting from the tips down. i see that one tip still has green leaves. that is a sign that the tip was not damaged. i think your tips might have been okay?

If that's the case you can probably still root some of the top part...

Judging by the plants around it you had fairly minimal damage. Even the croton looks to be OK and the crotons here in my area are all very ugly.

I agree it looks like you could still root that part.

i started cutting from each tip as each one was dark and soft for about 4" down ,so i kept cutting until i saw lighter wood. The leaves underneath were green as the top leaves protected them but each day they turned brown .I checked the cuttings today and each one has a brown soft line going down the branch.I cut the last branch today to make it all even,i couldn't melt wax as we have had a 20 mph wind all day. so i'll just wait and see how it recovers. Thank you everyone for your help.
