HI anyone have any of these to share for a trade? I don't have many veggie seeds, but do have some daylily seeds and downy lobelia and cardinalis seeds to trade.
Also, if you know of any superior string bean/green bean I can try I would appreciate your recommendation.
thanks
Carmen Pepper, Diva Cukecumber and Costata Romanesco squash
Diva is a good variety, but it is a hybrid, so I buy it and have never tried saving the seed.
Thanks pollengarden. I'm going to buy some from Johnnys, thanks:-)
Carmen is a hybrid too. There are lots of great open pollinated cukes, peppers and squash that you could save seeds from.
twiffybuds do you have any you can suggest, I don't know which are open pollinated types.
For open pollinated sweet peppers, I've had some excellent results from Red Marconi, Chervena Chushka and my favorite Giant Aconcagua. These are all shaped similar to Carmen. I'd offer you some but I've been trading since August and have about run out.
There are lots of cukes but I grew mostly hybrids last year. I did grow the Spacemaster80 and it's a small plant that's good for containers. It did well but had a lot of spines and wasn't as long as I like.
There are also lots of good zukes. I like the Grey and Black Beauty but I went to hybrids last year in a futile attempt to beat the squash vine borers. I sincerely hope they all froze their behinds off last week and that any survivors left the country for warmer parts.
