My daughter gave me a small Aerogarden for Christmas which I was about to return, but I just saw a thread here that mentioned them as good seed-starting devices. I thought I'd ask about them before I did anything irretrievable! This one is a SpaceSaver 6. It just looks too small to be of much practical use for herbs or anything much at all. Feedback?
Aerogardens?
You'd be surprised how big the herbs get in those little babies.
Mine is an AeroGarden 6 Elite so it is considerably bigger than the SpaceSaver model.
They do have the garden starter trays now for the SpaceSaver models. You can start 36 as compared to 66 in the bigger models...

As far as AeroGardens in general, I absolutely love mine! Probably wouldn't have shelled out the $$$ to buy it, but it was a gift from my Mom.

Thanks, Kelly. I think it would be too small for my seed starting needs, so I'm just going to take it back. That's kind of what I thought, but you've reinforced my suspicion. I start over 40 tomato plants, plus eggplant, peppers, and zinnias in my flats so I would need the larger model and as you said, I'm not about to shell out the money for it. I appreciate the information!
