On Christmas night, Phoenix came in and for once spent some time in with us. It was minus 6C outside and snowing heavily.
Then she went missing again, the snow and ice got worse and the night temperature dropped to Minus 11C, at one time just outside London it hit minus 17.7C.
She did not come back, when she went out on Christmas night.
I truly thought we had lost her, or hoping someone had taken her in out of kindness.
Yesterday walking past an outside wooden garage, I heard a cry but was not sure as next door has cats as well.
Then last night I heard her crying on the little roof, I simply could not believe it.
For the man with the garage could not get his car out, but we had a break in the weather, and he did. He told me he saw something flash past him; the cat had been in there since 25th of December, it was the 12th of January yesterday. No food, no water, no claws as she fought to get out.
I coaxed her back in here as she is an outside cat, but she was to weak to go out again. All bone and dehydrated, and starving, plus cold.
We have watered her and fed her constantly and all she wants is permanent warmth and a cuddle.
So this time we were lucky, this picture i have taken tonight as she is a bit better and has eaten well, if I could have got a picture of her when I first got her in, I doubt anybody would believe it.
She is one lucky cat, for the snow has returned, no more getting cars out of the garage at the moment, and I do not think if he had not got his car out yesterday, she would have survived much longer.
Regards.
Neil.
No wonder we called Her Phoenix!
