This is what I did yesterday.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

It's so cold here yesterday, not the normal NC weather, or anywhere else for that matter. I can't go anywhere for a few days because my husband wrecked my car. He hit a deer and did $2000 worth of damage. Just so glad that he didn't get hurt. So I decided to do some painting. I can't find the thread where we were talking about yogurt cups so I'm starting a new one. Here are a few of mine. I sprayed them first with Krylon Fusion paint for plastics. Then used enamel paints and added a few one stroke flowers. How do you decorate yours?

what is a 1 stroke flower? Those are so pretty, tell me how you did that. I have done some myself, but nothing as pretty as yours.

Mrs. Bonnie, It's really easy. I love it. I have also done some of the plastic coffee containers. It's a cheap way to get a canister set like I need. None of the little ones and several of the big ones.

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

How pretty! I love them!!!! You would never know they where yogurt cups.I wish I could paint.Bonnie please post a picture when you do one.Can someone teach me?LOL

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Those are so pretty, Melanie! You did a great job :)

Jan, that is the method that I use to paint. YOU CAN TOO PAINT, JAN!!!! If you want to play with that method, I can send you some copies of instructions if you like. It is so easy...

mrsbonnie, I can send you some too if you like.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Jan and Mrs. Bonnie, If you Google One Stroke Painting Videos you can find several to show you how.

Thanks everyone! Connie, I'm sure that you are like me.......everything has flowers on it. LOL!! I do so enjoy this painting method.

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Oh, yes!!! My problem is...I give them all away and don't keep any for myself. I have kept 3 small clay pots that I did when I first started painting. Didn't think they were quite good enough to give away. Heck, I even paint candles! Here are the first three that I painted...

Here is a pic of a windchime that I did. Now that I have posted a pic of my first paintings...you all have to post and share your first paintings too :)

Oh!!! I paint candles too!! Give me a little while so that I can dig up some pictures (I have to help my hubby check his truck in).
I love to paint anything but really enjoy painting flower pots. For some reason I don't like a plain pot....or is this just an excuse? LOL!!!
Have you ever tried painting on a mirror? Or the reversed painting?

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Can't wait to see the pics. I have painted mirrors...I have a vhs tape of D.D. showing how to do the reverse but I have not tried that yet. A lot of painting backwards LOL!

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

you girls are doing such beautiful work, i can't believe my eyes,i so hope i can do as well.i will post a picture after i learn, if i have the nerve. lol

Wow you all are so talented!! All great work!! I'm so jealous!! Laura H

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Wow!!! Laura, you have been on my mind ever since I learned about the shootings at ABB. The last update was 8 shot and one dead. AWFUL!!!!! Have you heard anything more? I hope you don't work close to that place.

(Zone 1)

Wow! Wow! Wow! Those are beautiful! I would never have known they are yogurt cups either! I've never heard of one stroke painting but I bet I could even mess that up! I have no creativity whatsoever! Beautiful job ... you ladies are really talented and should offer your crafts for sale on the DG Marketplace!

(Zone 1)

What shootings? What is ABB?

Praying that everyone is okay.

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

It is a plant in St. Louis that makes electrical transformers. A worker arrived this morning with a hand gun and an AK47 and started shooting in the parking lot then on into the building. We have been watching it on FOX news channel.

(Zone 1)

That is so sad. I will say prayers for those involved. The same thing happened the first week of November at a downtown Orlando office building, one young man died and five were seriously wounded.

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

It is sad and so senseless. Years ago you wouldn't have even thought about this and now it is happening all over. One report just said at least 3 were dead. The world is going crazy, Lin. Anyone could have been in that office building and been an innocent victim in Orlando too.

I hijacked the thread 'cause I saw Laura posting. Sorry all.

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Melanie and Connie, you are both very talented women. I love your work!!!! You should consider selling them...

This artwork is so beautiful! I have no talent--but would buy these pots in a heartbeat! Could you see us all traveling the crafts fair circuit, with our plants and pots, windchimes and candles? LOL! Ahhh...that's the good life! ^_^

Thanks for your concern, yes it was crazy in St. Louis today. It was further north than where I work, or my husband. The last I heard, and please don't quote me here, 3 dead, including the shooter killing himself and 5 injured, one was already released from the hospital. Very sad. They still had the building shut down at around 5:30 to make sure they found everyone and that it will be safe to return. People are just loosing it, there is a lot of pressure on people right now. I hope everyone takes a deep breath and a step back!! Laura H

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

Wow. Thanks for the update and if you hear anything further, please let me know. Sad day in St. Louis

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

I agree Connie...it's a very sad day.

I can't find my cd with my pictures on it but grabbed a few things that I have around the house. Just don't look at the dust !! LOL!!

Connie,I enjoyed seeing your pretty things again. So much talent you girls have!

Northeast, MO(Zone 5b)

PURDY, PURDY, PURDY, Melanie!!!!! I should have taken pics before I gave mine away :( I painted a real pretty large clay pot with yellow roses on it. I keep saying I need to get back into doing that again.

Girls, those were my first ones to ever paint. It did get a lot better with practice, I promise. Jan, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! You are very good with paint and crafts.

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

you girls are so talented, they are all beautiful.

Can't wait to see yours, mrsbonnie :)

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Mrs. Bonnie, you and Jannich will be painting like old pro's in no time. Believe Connie and I when we tell you that it's really simple.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Ladies, your painted pots, candles, etc, are 'to die for'. They are beautiful. I have been saving the pots, and now I'm really going to get going. I'll search the internet for the instructions.
aspenjocop, I would love to have a copy of your instructions. I'm in the address book, here on DG. I have lots of cups, and Michael's is close bye. LOL
Eileen

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Eileen, you CAN do it!!!!

Lovely pictures. I love them all!

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Couldn't wait to get home from work to post here...bought some breyers 100 calorie yogurts w/granolatopping you add in when you eat it--as I polished off 2 for supper tonight, it dawned on me--perfect containers for mini's/small semi's--if...they were painted! Dunno what paint to use, or how to get a design on the container though. I need something really simple to start with. I live right next door to Michaels, so if I knew what to get--I could try something this week!! Suggestions?

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Phoebe, I use Krylon Fusion (spray paint for plastics), to spray the cup first, then just regular acrylics for the designs. If you google One Stroke Painting or Donna Dewberry videos, they have several videos to show you how. It's simple really.
I'd be in SOOO much trouble if I lived next door to a Michaels!! LOL!!

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

boy so would i. lol

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)
