I received an email from a photographer that took some unusual photos at the Ridgefield NWR of a Downy Woodpecker. He didn't know what he had until he downloaded the photos from his camera to his computer. They are amazing. Has anyone every seen a tree frog attach itself to a bird before like this?
The photographer is Dennis S Davenport.

The above is from OBOL list.
Downy with a passenger
Never saw that before. That is really different. Thanks for posting it Tiger!
The frog is confused. They normally attach themselves to the backs of waterfowl, so they can migrate for the winter. Much like hummingbirds ride south on the backs of geese. :-)
Just to be clear, hummingbirds DO NOT ride south on the backs of geese.
Red, Your a little stinker ;-) !
You gotta be kidding! I've heard this all my life.
Sorry that is a myth. I'll find the info for you but I'll post it in the Daily Pics thread so we can let Tiger's thread alone.
I'd like to ride the back of a bird to go south.
That's just freaky having a frog under his feathers.
