which forum?

Memphis, TN

As I have been going through all the seeds I have recieved this year and making plans on where to plant. There are alot of them I am clueless on how or when to start these. I am making a list and would like to post say 5 at a time for help, so I can print, because there is no way for me to remember all of this. Should I do this here or somewhere else? Thanks for the help, Cara Also any pictures would be great.

Hi, Cara.
Here are some resources for you:
1. The Plants Database http://davesgarden.com/plants/ will have some good seed-starting information for many plants and some really great photos. You can search by Latin or common name.

If you don't find instructions for some of your seeds in the database, here's a link to Tom Clothier's seed germination list: http://www.anet.com/~manytimes/page52.htm

Tom has categorized his germination instructions by annual vs. perennial, and they are in alphabetical order within the categories.

If you still can't find some particular seed-starting instructions, try posting to the propagation forum and we'll be glad to help you out. Hope this helps!

Here are a couple more resources for seed starting:
Thompson and Morgan seed germination database http://www.backyardgardener.com/tm.html
Johnny's Selected Seeds (has number of days from seed to bloom ~ it's the red number right after the latin name of each flower) http://www.johnnyseeds.com/cgi-local/Minishopsql4.cgi
Select Seeds (has few flowers, but gives weeks to bloom info) http://www.selectseeds.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/04465.5.061704702683236029

Good luck! And remember the old adage that I live by (especially when starting seeds), "You're not stretching yourself as a gardener if you're not killing a few plants!"

Thank you both VERY much, Cara
