Great bargains - check out the classified. Just saw it posted.
Bill has caladiums listed
All over it chief. Do I understand correctly that I can treat these like Dahlias? Will one or two be happy as houseplants? I think I'll get some assorted and save the ones I like best.
Yesterday I bought:
odora
port odora
2 clumps tuberose
BAGS OF 10:
Florida cardinal
Grey Ghost
White Queen
Red Flash
Gingerland
Miss Muffet
If someone wants other types but not 10, let me know and I will buy some that I don't already have.

send bill a dmail and get his take on this. I get the bulbs early, plant inside so they will be ready to hit the ground running after frost. They will not handle frost. There are certain companies I only buy from - like what type of coffee or soda I buy. Bill has the largest, best size, best all around caladiums in this country ! Roses from Palatines for my zone and clematis from Silver Star Vinery - other plants are not as important. I think you must put your money where the quality, size, price vs plant/bulb and customer service gets you.
I'm sure you will get all the answers and more from calling or email/dmailing Bill. Great guy

shihtzumom, I sent in my order last night. Bill does send out some great caladium. I would have loved it to have been a coop. But I will be happy to get them. Patti
Kathy, thanks for the heads up. I'm sure sorry there won't be a co-op this year. You and Bill always did such a great job. I'll be shopping tomorrow!
thanks, I will call him. Everyone spoke so highly of his bulbs on the coop interest thread, I figured if I'm going to get some to try it should be from him.
Diva,
Thanks so much for your words of support for my efforts. Bill has the best product - just don't understand why they wanted other vendors to bid on the coop items.............no further comment.
Kathy, I couldn't agree more. I stumbled on the discussion in the Co-op forum, and was floored. Oh well, less work for you, I guess, but still. I don't understand it either. (End of "discussion"!) ^_^
LOL
I ordered a 5 lb assortment and a couple of elephant ears
I want lots of white so I'm still going back and forth on choices. I put them in tubs on my porch - 1910 Victorian home with wrap around porch and having galvanized tubs sitting on wicker tables really makes a show.
Wonder approx how many bulbs would be in a 5 # box... Im considering ordering ones with more white in them but if theres alot more for the money in the bulk order I might be persuaded to go that way lol.. Any one have a guess? I wont hold ya to it!
At $7.00/10 I can get 30 bulbs for $21.00 would it be better to do that or to or order the bulk 5# box for 25 just wondered which was best buy.. Thanks for input..
I'm sure you will get the best deal if you email biLL. He's great to work with.
I second that opinion - I've only dealt with BiLL for the last 2 years, but he's great, and the bulbs you will get are just the best. He's offering a great selection this year. Barb
Check the classified -
huneybunch, BiLL has another ad posted (I think the classifieds expire after 2 weeks each time they run), and while some varieties have been sold out, there is still a huge selection left. Don't hesitate to ask him if you have any questions - he's very responsive.
Re: your question - I'd say if you've got particular colors in mind, it would be better to choose them by cultivar. If you don't care what you get, the bulk package would probably be the way to go. I have to confess, I always order by cultivar, just cause I like to know what I'm getting in terms of color and size.

Hope this helps.........Barb
Bill now has Caladiums for your Landscape. Let's stop over and say hi when you're there.
