Foliosa Shrub vs Concord

College Park, GA(Zone 7b)

Are these the same begonia or different? Do you have a picture of either one if they are different.

They're different. I brought in Concord last year for the club. The leaves are dark and larger than foliosa that have green small leaves. I have pictures but not on my iPhone.

I looked on-line some pictures whatever they were referring to one had more of burgundy look to it and just as you stated about the size. I didn't know whether they were close up shots or further back from the plant. Well I have a foliosa coming from an EBay bid next week.

B. foliosa I picked up at HD Landscape Center (are all of them closed down?) 4 years ago for $2.50.

B. 'Concord' - you should have this if you didn't lose it.

HD closing down? I hadn't heard that one. The first pic is the plant that 's coming. I don't have anything of the second pic in my collection. Would be willing to give it a whirl.

HD "Landscape Center" closed down. This is a landscaping only HD store - plants and tools for landscaping. It was probably trying to drive Pike's out of business but that didn't happen. I knew of two in Cobb County and both were off Barrett Parkway (or East West connector).

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

Never heard of HD landscape center.

It may have been only in select cities. Atlanta is the home of HD so maybe it was the first (and only) market for the landscape centers. It appeared quite nice but too far away at times to justify the trip just to browse. I stopped there if I was in the area.

Okay it was HD Landscape Supply and only a few stores in the Atlanta and Dallas/Ft. Worth areas were opened. Anyway I bought several plants there at very low prices. I don't know why it wasn't successful but it looks like they shut them down.

I do remember one up in Buckhead area. You are right the last time I was up that way it wasn't there.

They also closed their Expo Centers (maybe I got center from this store).
