I'm looking for experiences with this plant. I bought it online, assuming it's a rooted cutting, still young. This is supposedly a great bonsai choice, growing a caudex at its base that's really neat. (You'd have to look-up a more mature picture). I really like the foliage, and it should bloom white.
My mistake was putting this in a terrarium for about 2 months before learning it preferred dryness. Since potting it up (seen here), it's been pouting...I guess due to the harsh change in environment. I'm hoping it bounces back.

Caudiciform - Begonia Partita
I treat mine like all the rest-- but do make sure it doesn't stand in water. It is a little leafless now since I keep the GH on the cool side. If for any reason you lose yours jlmk and I'll send some cuttings in the spring.

Thanks so much, Gran. I laughed out loud when I saw the Jewel of Opar. It's such a pretty specimen, but I'll be weeding-out seedlings ALL year myself!
B. partita has got to be my favorite begonia. I don't have one currently as I lost it in a move across country, but gosh! What a plant! I love the way it looks as it ages- I saw a stunning specimen at the Philly Flower Show a couple of years. It knocked my socks off.
The one I had was quite tolerant of errors, and very forgiving (except of the move).
