Newbie preparing for our unusual cold...

Cocoa, FL(Zone 9b)

Here in zone 9...supposed to maybe get to 32, so I brought in my babies into the studio (Phoenix the cat is investigating..."wat are THESE things, mommy?"...I am so glad only one is in the ground. So, my questions:
Cover the one in the ground with a sheet? what to do?

should I cover this heavy guy in the front yard, or is this good enough? (too heavy for my herniated disc..)

I am in zone 8b/9a, and I have my Plumerias in the ground. I don't cover the mature one, which is situated on the east side of my brick house, about 3' from the house. All the others are the southwest corner of the house and banked, on the south side, by my greenhouse. I DO cover the entire plant on these. I would get a couple of beach towels and some clothes pins and cover all your Plumerias, just to be safe.

could you possible use a two wheel dolly to move the large one into the garage???

I am in zone 9A and have some plumeria over 8 feet high. I dig them up and put them in my garage with the bare roots in a plastic bag until mid March when they go back in the ground to start blooming again. I have never lost one in 6 years. Good luck. John

I'm in 9a and surprised you still have leaves on yours mine is bare.

Hire a local kid to move it or use a dolly
The low temps will burn the tips and you wont get blooms for 2 years.

I read in another forum when someone suggest that you take a cutting of your plumeria if you can't take it in, that way, if it doesn't make it, you can still root one later.

It's what I have done with some of my hard-to-replace ones.

id take more than 1 cutting in that case.
Several to hopefully ensure the survival of the plant.
If you take only 1 and it rots youre out of luck 100%

Everybody survived, and only one needed a pruning.
