what exactly is a mini hibiscus? what's its size at maturity?

Mini refers to the bloom size, not the size of the plant. Mini's have smaller blooms than typical tropical hibiscus.

Thanks, ecrane. So...will they grow to be 3'x 3' shrubs (or so) like regular hibbie shrubs? I'm in love with one they show called Ice Fairy, but don't want it if it will be a smaller shrub. Don't mind smaller blooms, but do mind smaller shrub size if trying to build a hedge of hibbies.

Would love to pair Ice Fairy with Blue Ballerina, ahhhhh.

Other than the size of the blooms there shouldn't be any difference between the minis and any other tropical hibiscus, although different hibiscus cultivars (regardless of flower size) can vary in growth habit--some make nicer looking bushes than others so if you're trying to grow a nice looking hedge you might email HVH and ask them about the growth habit of that particular plant. Full grown size on most tropicals will be larger than 3 ft if you let them grow how they want to (6-8 ft is what I've typically seen listed). If you keep them in pots and/or prune them regularly you can keep them smaller than that, but I don't think you need to worry at all about the plants not getting to at least 3 ft.
