I saw this in the garlic bed this morning when I ventured out to check the lettuce and for any damage done by the snow and colder weather we've had this past week. Is it possible that this little bulb started emerging during all the cold weather we've had? I was thoroughly surpised to find it. I did pull those weeds growing behind it, too. LOL
Yes, it is garlic all right.
I know you are delighted to find the garlic taking off. If not sure, you could always just bruise the leaf with a fingernail and sniff. It will tell on itself.
