That is WAY to funny (or serendipitous) for public consumption!! I majored in Japanese at UO, Ginger...then went to Japan and lived there for a few years...hahaha!! lol. 信じられない。。。(can't believe it!!) freaky.

I was an exchange student in Kagoshima when I was 13. Then we had students for many years and I worked in a few translating jobs. My Japanese is rusty because I have layered it with Spanish and French but it sure comes back fast when I need it!

Since we are on a poultry forum I will tell you of my strange poultry experience in Japan.
Once we went to a carnival. Here we have those games where you can win a goldfish or in some cases a parakeet. In Japan they had this game where there was a trough on the ground that run the whole front of the booth. It was filled with chicks, all bright colors, pink, green, blue etc. For a small amount of yen you got a wooden stick fishing pole with a string on it and a ball of dough. You out some dough on the string and "fished" for a chick. If you could get the chick up and out of the trough before it ate the dough and fell down with it's cohorts you got to keep it.

I won 6 chicks.

My Japanese parents lived in the city. They were appreciative in the honorable Japanese way of my gift, but obviously not as fond of my chick fishing skills as I had hoped.

That is a wonderful story! I wish my chicks would eat dough---I wonder what it was.....?

Thanks everyone. I am hoping my family got the hint and got me those rooters that I wanted. They did get the hint and got me the West Wing series for Christmas so I will be happy if I have to get the rooters myself, they're a lot cheaper!

Off work in 22 minutes (but who's counting?) then home and then out to dinner!

NO great drama today...so far..there's still as of now 21 minutes left... so all in all a good day.
