This was used by a fellow birder to explain to non-birding spouse why we sometimes watch one bird for long periods of time. I believe it's a Magellanic Woodpecker (similar to our Pileated) from South American. The snake? I have no idea.

That was really something, but . . .
I'll bet the video have moved to a whole new level of excitement if that Wp had snatched that snake out, and it had landed in that boat full of people.

That snake will be sore for a few days, if not worse, that bill goes through wood, it had to hurt the snake.
