So far no one can identify this low growing ground cover. It only gets about 4-8 inches and is very soft like clover. Does anyone else have this?
weed or ground cover
is it purslane? picture is a little fuzzy. Though I think that the freeze might have taken care of the purslane.
It is very thin leafed unlike purslane.
It kind of looks like a type of Coreopsis.
Maybe this one? Coreopsis tinctoria

We have a winner.
You rock!
All right!!! that makes me very happy, Coreopsis tinctoria is an annual, but it grows in great abundance where it gets established. Be sure to post a picture when it is in bloom.
Josephine.
Ya. I have 2-3 acres of it growing right now.
Oh my God! I bet it is amazing when in bloom, congratulations!!!
Lee, are your Coreopsis in an area where you can afford to let them grow?
Josephine, you are so right about it growing in great abundance where established. This what our northwest pasture — 25 acres — looked like about 3 or 4 years ago. This was only a small portion of the pasture. It was crowding our native grasses out so it has to be sprayed. This looked thin when compared to a neighbors hay field about the same time.
That is gorgeous, Veronica !!!
I will be mowing my orchard so they probably wont reseed as bad in the grow area next year. I am also hoping my clovers will give them a run for their money.
I'm champing at the bit for next spring...it's been so long since we had a decent spring wildflower show around here and the little wildflower plants are all over! We should have a banner year for spring. I've never seen so many Baby Blue-Eyes come up before and bluebonnets are all over also. I had one bed that I dug up and re-did it, had some soil left over after I amended, which was left in a big pot. So the Baby Blue-Eyes plants in the pot are even bigger than the ones in the ground. I should pot some babies up!
