How Fortunate I Am!!

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Here I was, feeling sorry for myself, for reasons that don't matter here......and what happens??

First I receive a beautiful candle warmer with homemade scents to warm my home.Today, right after digging out of a terrible storm and getting to the mailbox,I found a lovely card from one DG friend and from another a gorgeous African Violet made of beads in a cute little pot and a very clever(and handpainted) Oyama pot, made by hand!!

This all came to a person so wrapped up in her own world, she didn't even get cards sent out this year. How blessed I feel to be a part of this wonderful caring group of people ^_^.

May all of you be warm and safe and have the greatest New Year ever!!

Oh, what wonderful Christmas surprise!

I so agree that this is a caring Garden, full of so much kindness! May the glow of that candle warmer and those homemade scents fill your senses with joy! I know you will find some cute plants for those pots too! The beaded AV sounds really cute ... what a great idea! I so admire follks with creative talents!

Warm greetings for a wonderful New Year, and ...

Now, let's toast to keeping dirty fingernails (with plant dirt) in the new year!!!! LOL

You guys are great. I come here and look around before I even start my day... I'm going to go look at December blooms now. And thank you for sharing your blessings. I wish us all many great surprises with our growing this coming year. Wow, nearly 2010!

Not to go too far off topic, but I just want to tell you, when my kids start fighting and bickering with each other, I ask them to stop for a minute and think of something to thank God for and to give a quick prayer. They roll their eyes and try to tattle for a sec, but it quickly changes the mood. If you are thinking of your gratitude and thanking God for it, it is hard to stay upset. I also tell them that I don't know how long I'll get to be here, so let's not spend our precious time fighting with people we love.

Growhappy: I think everyone around here will toast to that! I know a few people who can't imagine getting their pretty manicures messed up, wouldn't even think of getting dirt under their nails ... isn't that hard to believe? Playing in the dirt is the best therapy!

3jsmom: So well said. What a wonderful Mom, you are instilling those values in your kids, making them think about things.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead ... be safe on New Year's eve and all the best for the beginning of a new year. 2010, Wow!
