It was raining like a . . . it was raining hard. I had nothing better to do. So, I slipped the 2x between the 40D and the Canon 70-300 IS lens.
Most were shot through the window of my back door.
All but the last few few where on a tripod.
This one is without the 2x converter. Target was 25 yards away. 300mm on the lens, Camera on P mode. Shutter speed 1/80 - f/5.6 - ISO 400.
None, but the last, of the pics have been worked over - they are just like they were in the camera.

Played around with the Tamron 2x teleconverter today
Hack,
Nice shots ... especially for the distance.
I'll try to send some of my New Mexico sunshine your way.

Jane, yes, please send all you can spare.

Not trying to hijack your thread Hack, but I thought since I was doing pretty much the same thing I thought I would post it here.
Now since I cant afford a long prime lens, I purchased a Opteka 500mm lens for 100$ and a 2x teleconverter for 40$. Ive did like Hack did and played with the lenses for comparison.
First is my 55mm EF-S lens, aiming at the garage lamp on my brother's house from my house, he lives 2 doors over. The only thing Ive done is resize the pics.
