Anyone rescue a cat this year from the local shelter? I'd love to hear the happy stories!
My DH and I adopted two-year-old Dexter in April. He actually picked us. He kept jumping on both of our laps even after being repeatedly set down. We figured he knew something we didn't, and took him home that same day. Poor guy had multiple upper respiratory infections soon after. And a case of ringworm, which he passed on to me! He turned out to be a wonderful, mellow, lap cat (surprise!) and he fetches too. I couldn't imagine being without my big, black teddybear. :)
