Natures Variety vs. California Natural

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

My 7 year old yorkie, Zapita has been diagnosed with colitis, as well as several other health issues this past month. Our vet recommend Hill's Science Diet W/D, all of you've that read my post about pet food probably can already guess my reaction to this. DH and I hired a pet nutritionist and here are her recommendations:

We've been feeding Zapita a Innova/Evo mix so I'm leaning towards the California Natural, I've done research on the Natures Variety but fear that the protein content as well as the fat % are just a bit to high for our darling piglet. Anyone feed Natures Variety? Feedback?
