When I was younger (much younger!) my Grandma would make German potato salad with herring in it for Christmas or New Years Day. She came over from Germany in 1923 and of course never wrote her recipes down. My sisters and I have managed to reproduce some of the great things she cooked but we can't quite remember a dressing for the salad. Any help would be appreciated.
