I found a flock of these Halloween-colored ducks in Central Park, in NY. They were swimming in groups around a central point, sending circular waves across the lake. Half of them (I'd guess the males) are very distinctly colored. Anybody know what they are?

Thanks Burd... It was actually the way that they were grouped that attracted my attention. It's hard to show in stills, but you can get a better idea from the attached shot of what they were doing - swimming in concentric circles while feeding. There were a couple of flocks of mallards very close by, but they were swimming along the shore while feeding.
