My begonias and sinningias always seem to be plagued by aphids during the winter, so when I have plants blooming in December I get all excited and have to post pictures. First up is Sinningia 'Cherry Sprite'.

Very pretty color. I have a couple small sinningia and don't really know what to expect or how to treat them.
Very pretty Sinn.!!
3jsmom31,there are a 2 0r 3 Sinn. experts here.Maybe they will be around to offer their advice.I just treat mine like African Violets, but with a little more light.Don't let them dry too severely or they may go dormant and have to be restarted.

I didn't know the little ones went dormant, so I guess I'm pretty green about them. I have florist gloxinias and achimenes and I expect them to go dormant.
most sinningia's do go dormant. there are some that don't, but most do. so the best thing to do is take cuttings so you will have more if they do go dormant.

It could be both. I'd try fertilizing first, because insufficient light causes etiolation (spindly growth with elongation of the internodes). The plants will lean towards the light, too. Your little ones don't look etiolated, just small. They aren't micro minis, are they? They seem healthy otherwise.
By the way, my mini sinningias go dormant on me frequently because I tend to be neglectful when it comes to watering. Their tubers ( I think tuber is the correct term) persist, and will re-sprout before too long. You have to try hard to kill the tuber.
Most of them look great, but the second one on the top, from the left, looks fertilizer burned in IMHO.
That was a strep that arrived struggling. It has since succumbed. I killed half of the plants in there trying to add a granular fertilizer. I had stopped fertilizing in the water but wanted to make the nutrients available, and then I didn't notice it until a couple days later that everything was burned. I tried to get cuttings, but it was so so in survival. The sinningias survived, the mini AV and one episcia. I was so sad, but it was my own fault.... None of the other plants in the tank suffered, just these :(.
I did the same thing to a bunch of baby Streps. a while back.Either fertilizer or water.I felt awful, but things happen sometimes.
Do you think it was because they were just getting established? Everything was growing so well, I never thought it would be a problem to add some fert. Well, we can cry over it together :)....
Just established plants don't need much food and none if they have been repotted recently.Granular fertilizers scare me.I like to use a very diluted mix.
We are not the only ones crying LOL.A good friend recently lost a bunch of plants too.Notice the thread "Strep. Killers Unite". We are all in this together!!
lol, that was funny, I'll go check it out.
