I got my babys in early Nov. and several have started fighting. Not bad fighting... Just an Im badder than you kind of thing with a few pecks and shrills. Can I assume these are Roos? Their combs are also larger than the ones that Im pretty sure are hens. I can only keep the hens but I really don't want to rush to a decision. With that said I also don't want to wait so long that I get attached to them.

Do only the Roos square off?
Pullets will face off too--but if you are noticing that the fighting is linked to larger combs--especially if they are pinker/redder combs--I would strongly suspect they are roos....
The boys really enjoy sparring--I think the girls just like to be the boss and will do whatever it takes.....
I have big stock hens that will still sqare off at the roos from time to time. Game hens will fight like pit bulls. LOL
