I just took a picture of my violet room. They shared the home office in our last house. We moved into our new home and now they have a room to themselves. Huge windows as well as their lights. Happy campers.
New home for my violets
Perfect as always. Very nice set up and they do look very happy :)
oh wow, how nice, plenty of light & room.

Wow! Very nice. I'd love to have two stands - mine are getting awfully crowded.
Sally: You moved? Well, your stands look great, and your plants look beautiful as always! You sure can grow em' girl! That is a lovely set-up and I bet your AV's love those great windows ... makes me wish I had some nice windows for good light, I've been contemplating setting up a stand with lights again!
Congrats on your new home!
Very beautiful Sally!! I am so glad you are feeling better.
Yes, Lin. I was very ill so my hubby had to take care of EVERYTHING while I stayed at my parents. He dealt with the movers and did it all. He is an angel. He has to do all of the cooking, wash etc... OH, and his eng. job too!
He was so sweet to haul the stands and plants around. I have a wonderful family that helped me so much.
Our new home is just wonderful. We loved our other one too, we had done a lot to it, but he is now working in Sugarland. We love this area.
My violets have a room to themselves, no sharing with our office now, ha. They have a wonderful view to a greenbelt area also.
I really like your shelves. They look very pretty. Your husband must be a gem. I could just see my DH trying to care for my plants .... Well, it would be interesting to say the least :). I wish you the best in regaining your health.
Sally, beautiful as usual. I see you are still artisti with your labels and frames. LOL
Great work. Praise for your hubby too, for taking care of you and your plants.
There are two sets of shelves. They are VERY large. IGS sells them online. Pretty pricey, but great.
i when to that site and could find it
Here you go. Here is a link for the two I have.

Dori: You can do light stands a bit less expensively by purchasing metal shelving from either Wal-Mart or Target. I bought some of the black metal stands at Wal-Mart a few years ago when they were on sale and bought the lights for $9.98 each and wired them to each shelf. I sat tiles on top of the shelves to keep the plants from wobbling but I've seen some folks sit plastic trays on the shelves to sit their plants in. Back then I paid $29.99 for the shelf and each light was $9.98 (I hung two on each shelf.) It isn't as professional or nice looking as the stands Sally has but it works well and the total cost was just under $100 for the set-up. I hope to someday have at least one of the nice ones like Sally's!
I only have one African Violet right now but this is a picture of one of my stands about 2 1/2 years ago. It's isn't as fancy or as nice as those large, expensive professional stands, but it is sturdy and works really well. I eventually bought wheels that fit the legs, which made it easier to roll around when I wanted to move it.
i have the same kind & really love them.

K-Mart has an ad in today's paper for the one that looks identical to mine - 4 shelf unit for $24.99.
Target has the chrome 5-shelf like the one I bought for $34.99. The shop lights are no longer 9.99, but 12.88. I have one on each shelf. It is working great for me. I wish I had room for another one of those fixtures. But I have no room. :(
My violets are all over the house, even in my master bathtub.:)
Eileen, Wow, very nice ... they look great!
Eileen,
I love that bathtub planter LOL!!
Eileen: I'm just heading out to a Basketball game but wanted to see if you are okay? We've had the news on and they are reporting a large brush fire in the Palm Bay area. I hope it's not near you. It's supposed to be 34º here tonight and it's been so dry and with the cold making it even drier, the threat of fires is very high. Hope you can pop in and let us know that you are safe.
Lin, fires were sw of us. Not too close, thank God. I get very nervous when I hear of the brush fires. I gather up all my important papers and pictures and keep them ready. Thanks for thinking of me.
Hope you have a Happy and Healthy New Year.
And you also,Eileen!!
The other Lynn.
