Female Cardinal

Milford, PA

Everyday Cardinals come to visit and everyday until today I could never get a good picture. This female cardinal posed for me while I snapped away with absolutley no fear and finally a picture close enough to enjoy her beauty.....

Beautiful photo! I think the many subtle colors on the female cardinal make her even prettier than the male, but you do need to be close to appreciate them.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

I agree, the female is a very pretty bird and you did get a great shot of her.

I rarely see the cardinals up close except when they are nesting. But today, probably because of the snow, this female came up and tried her hardest to get into the meal worm feeder. Hope you don't mind my showing one of the pictures I got of her.

Great shot 2dCousinDave and LDEV4. I took a mess out of the window during the storm yesterday, but none like those. Patti

Wow! Stunning picture 2dCousinDave! I always admire your pictures. I appologize if this is a repeat question but what kind of camera do you use. I currently have a point and shoot Sony H20 and am dying to get a Canon Rebel. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

bbrookrd I love the shot of the male you got. Really great!

Thanks, but it was taken through a dirty window, sorry, but it was too cold and windy to go out and snap a better shot. He was very happy to pose for me. Patti

LOL, I'm taking better bird photos this year, partly due to a good zoom on the new camera (Nikon P90, not a DSLR), and partly because we just had the windows cleaned -- what a difference!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wanna clean mine? Oh, just saw the "we just had" so I guess I will just have to clean the couple that look out to the feeders myself. Patti
