As most of you know, I have been ill for 7 months. My violets have been through SO MUCH. I didn't give them much care, we MOVED to a new home, I stayed with my parents for 5 weeks and my hubby brought my plants AND huge stand (the violets had to live on one stand for a while) and I watered them with my mom's help. Hubby had to do the move alone.
They are in the new house in a room all their own now. Great space. My husband had to water them while I was at my parents again for two weeks. Got home last weekend.
A couple lost leaves at the bottom, but I am just amazed at how resiliant they are. Fred was helping me with them last night. Cleaning the shelves and rearranging them. I am so happy.
I have a new doctor for my Chronic Fatigue. I see her next week. I hope she can help me with that and other things like BP. The BP is much better with med.
ANYWAY, I just had to share how happy I am that my violets are happy and blooming like fools, even without my TLC!
I haven't taken photos in 7 months, but here is one from before my illness.
My Sweet Violets

Hi Sally,Nice to see you posting.I hope the new doctor can help with your illness.Glad your getting settled in your new home.Your violet is beautiful as always.
Hi Salley ... I guess I must have had my head buried in the sand for quite awhile, I'm so sorry, I didn't even know you had been sick! It's a blessing that your parents are nearby and were such a help to you and your hubby. I've read your posts in the past about how helpful your Fred is ... you have a wonderful helpmate in that husband of yours! Isn't it wonderful that he is knowledgeable about plants too and can help you with them! Doesn't your husband grow orchids? I have a few Orchids blooming right now and a couple more with buds. We are expecting some cold temperatures by the weekend so I had to move the orchids and a few other things inside.
That Apache Bandana is absolutely beautiful! I sure have a soft spot for those with variegated foliage and that is one special violet! You sure can grow em'! I have one lonely AV (Irish Kiss). I didn't even know it was still alive but found it hiding behind a philodendron and some other plant out on my back porch. I noticed a little bit of growth so I began to water it and take a little better care of it and even though it's still a bit ratty looking, it has a bloom.
I hope you like your new doctor and that she will be able to help you with your CF and BP. I know it must be difficult trying to deal with a combination of illnesses like that. You hang in there and just know that folks here are thinking of you, and always wishing you well!
Yes, Fred grows orchids. He is so sweet. Always tries to keep me happy and that is not easy when I am so ill and sad about it. Bought me a wheelchair and pushed me in it for a few months. I don't need it much now. That is good, it is heavy....in and out of the car. I hated making him do that.
For months, I was only in bed. I am so happy to be able to sit in my chair in the living room and watch the big tv. Fred bought me a new flat screen for my bedroom but the one in the liv room is BIG>ha.
He is so busy at work, but always comes home if I need him to.
great hubby, hope you get better real quick, looks like progress so far.lol

Sally, it is really good to hear you are doing so much better! Your Fred is a keeper for sure! He loves you and I'm sure knows if things were reversed and it was him who was ill, you would take just as good care of him!
I sure would if the roles were switched!
Sally, I'm glad your back to posting. I, too, have missed your georgeous pictures.
Also glad you are feeling better. Hope this new doctor will find the right meds to get you fully back on your feet.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
