manure or osmocote?

I'm starting my vegetable garden in large plastic buckets (my restaurant is so happy to be rid of them!).

Should I use the bagged manure and compost (.5-.5-.5), or the osmocote (14-14-14)? If I use both will I burn my plants? Any advice is appreciated.

I would go with the Osmocote; it is a time release fertilizer with balanced N P K. You will not be in danger of burning anything just follow the instructions.
You could also use a water soulable (Mircle Gro or Peters) to supplement every 10 days.
I've been using this regime for the past several years.
