Want to save a calorie or two when decorating sugar cookies? Instead of using frosting, mix food coloring into an egg yolk. Use small craft paint brushes to apply on cookies. Sprinkles stick to it nicely. Then just bake as usual. You'll want to work with just one pan of cut out cookies at a time so the dough doesn't dry out while you paint. Everyone in my family was required to do at least a few. Wonderful time to visit, wonderful, brightly decorated cookies, wonderful memories............and easy!
