I purchased a strep on ebay and of course, we had a severe cold snap while it was in transit. It was packed with a heat pack and quite well wrapped. The ends of the leaves sustained some cold damage but otherwise the plant looked ok after unwrapping. However, the next day it was really droopy. Not knowing what to do, I put it into a "mini-greenhouse" (plastic bag) to give it some humidity and see if that helped. So far it hasn't gone downhill any further, but I'm still hesitant to say it's gonna live. Any other tips, suggestions? Please?
Thanks
Deb
Strep rescue! Help!
Just keep it from getting too warm and hope for the best. The humidity will help. Was the soil really wet when you bagged it? If so, you may need to let a little moisture escape. It may very well have gotten warm with the heat pack which is just as bad as a freeze.
I agree.Once the plant looks perked up,wean it off the humidity and water it only when almost dry.
It definitely looks better today. The inside of the bag was really warm and humid so I took it out. Hopefully I was not premature.
The strep is called "Sweet Caroline".
I will post a picture when it blooms!
Thanks all!

I think it is easier on the plant if you first open the bag to kind of mix the dryer house air with the humid air in the bag. I would give it an adjustment time for a couple days, then remove it.
