Another bunch of WOW flowers. Does Silver Charm have an upright bloom? Midnight Serenade has gorgeous colors. Not an ugly step child in this bunch.

Thanks Judy. Midnight Serenade has the best blooming characteristics of that bunch of hibs. Silver Charm has outward facing blooms, so it's not too bad. It's up upward, but at least its not downward facing. The downward facing blooms kind of bum me out. LOL

The bad part of most doubles is you have to place them up high to really see their beauty.
Easy enough if they are in pots. One reason I love Elephant Ears. Don't know if you can cross it with something else but it does have excellent qualities for a double.

That is a nice upright bloom. Some of the show winning huge blooms grow on very poor growing plants. Another very good double, with good form, blooms is "Magic Moments". Some outward and many upward facing blooms.

Will have to look that one up.

That's sooooooo pretty. That is a good double. Have you noticed whether it has a short stem or not? Think that is one reason E E doesn't droop. They are not only short but they are thicker than usual.

I used to have Magic Moments, but gave it to my brother. The stems are short/thick and sturdy. The Magic Moments blooms almost always have great double bloom form. The "Silver Charm" bloom pictured in this thread was the largest bloom I've had on this plant so far. You really can't pick up the size of it in the photo. It hadn't bloomed in quite some time so much of the plants energy went into that bloom.
