Just wondering if this plant could be grown INSIDE .. it's lovely and I am a '3Aer' for Zone.

Lovely photo of the Crinum bloom!
MarilynneS: I have no clue if they can be grown inside, they are strictly landscape plants down here in Florida and the ones I see all over are huge. I see the info in Plant Files say 4' tall and just as wide but I've seen them larger and wider than that in the ground down here!
There are 56 Crinum's listed in Plant Files: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/b/Amaryllidaceae/Crinum/none/cultivar/0/ maybe there's a dwarf or smaller version that would be perfect for indoors in a bright window?
Holy COW .. now THAT is a bit larger than I thought it'd be ..
Guess I'll just have to enjoy the pics of it ^_^
Sure they can be grown inside, however they do love the watersides and humidity. I have seen them grown inside a Conservatory. These were growing in a swampish area at Dallas Discovery Gardens. They are gorgeous!
Wonder if they could be treated like Cannas up north... People dig up the bulbs and wrap them in newspaper, or if planted in pots, brought into a basement until frost subsides in Spring. Wondering if Criniums can be treated this way. Anyone know for sure?
Be interesting to know as Cannas do survive and winter over as you described up here.
Gotta love the 'look' of that flower ^_^
