Her first day opened..... Yippee :)
Its a Doosie :)
Nice!!!!
Wallaceone,
Do you find that your Doosie needs less water than most Brugs? I'm trying to figure out why my Doosie is not thriving. I had to repot her two months ago when some calves got in among my Brugs, broke a few and smashed some pots. Doosie received a double whammy. She was slightly mangled and her pot was smashed. When I removed her from what was left of her pot, I discovered she didn't have much of a root system. She's hanging on, but hasn't grown much. I'm also keeping her on the dry side.
My Brugs don't go dormant because of the wild weather we get. So beginning last winter, I've been keeping the thermostat at 50ºF and fertilizing with a weak solution of MG. All, but a few are happier with this arrangement.
Barb,
I am so proud of you and your
Doosie. You have done very
Well growing Doosie.
Keep us posted barb
as Doosie gets it color.
Chocolate Brug
Thanks Kim!
Hi Betty Yes! she does seem to not want as much water here. She is also bug proof it appears. I fight aphids on other brugs and they dont seem to bother her. I use miracle gro with perlite on her in a medium pot as she is a medium sized brug right now. I gave her horse manure compost and worm castings for nurishments. I just found out they are selling superthrive in WI now. I bought some and plan on giving her the vitamins. I would def say she does like the dry side betty. :) I hope this helps some. She is kept at weird temps as we have a wood fireplace for heat along with a natural gas heater and a back up kerosene heater. The temps are all over the place. Lol
Choc thank you so much for her. You are the best helping out so many this past season! Hugs Barb
Doosie is going on my wish list. It's lovely.
She is lovely, I have a small cutting in water, watching very closely for nubbs or roots, I sure hope she makes it, but if I see anyone with cuttings for sale put my name down in case I miss it.*LOL*
Doris
Wow, very nice. Beautiful flower, bug proof, and does not need as much water, sounds like the ideal brug. Great!!!!

OH WOW how can I ever thank you, I can't say thank you when I get it, I am English and that is bad luck, to say thank you for a living plant.
Doris
I am rooting alot of brugs right now and I put them in clear water bottles cut the tops off you can watch the roots as they come its pretty neat. I seem to think that they root better in clear containers for some reason.
Danasplants, maybe because they get more light, that's a good idea.
Doris
Barb, I Am so happy that
Doosie is coloring up
