Lights Out :Affect on egg production???

AuGres, MI(Zone 5b)

Our power went out around 3 a.m. THe house here is on a standby generator. I never got around to having the electrician put the barn on the generator. The birds and barn kittens are all without power. We're fixing to go out to check on them and make sure they have water. I'm worried if the power doesn't come back on by tonight their "day" will be shorter and it might affect their egg production. Will it go back up when we're able to supplement the lights?

I'm not sure one long night will throw them off seriously. And it doesn't take much light to keep them on track--so if you could put any light, like a battery lantern, in for a couple hours, it would fix the problem

Good idea. I've got a few of those around. Thanks!

As usual, Catsy is right on, any small light will work to keep them on schedule. Some even put candles in the coop/ I don't like that idea due to possible fires, but some do it.
