Philodendron x evansii, is a hybrid between P. bipinnatifidum & P. speciosum. It is not a naturally occurring species.

The hybrid sign (x) should be displayed between the Genus and species name, as shown above.

I do not know why the name is displayed like that on this particular page. I see it is the same when you click into the comments page on each picture of Philodendron x evansii. I suspect it is a glitch in the program and probably shows up on totally different "x" entries on the comment page though the original page on the plant is displayed correctly.

We could go look to be sure.

Hi Kell, looks like it has been corrected!

LOL Dave, I was going to say from your mouth to God's ears. LOL

Then saw it is not fixed on this page above.

The Plant Files apparently did add the correction.

I took note of the fact that it was correct when I uploaded my pic. It is just this page that is wrong for some reason.

Great looking plant!

I've seen that plant-close to Lake Merrit, right? Another, huge plant two storys tall, also in north Oakland was cut down. I have a rooted cutting of that..slow growing in light shade, they need good old sol.

Yes, that is where I saw this. So sad such an old one was killed off. How lucky you went by at that time to save a piece.
