What to do with the seed pod

Fox Island, WA(Zone 8b)

So I didn't have a chance to put up my greenhouse yet, and it snowed and got below freezing on Friday. My plumies are ruined!! One of them has a seed pod, I am wondering if the seeds inside are still any good after being frozen. Any one have any ideas?

Here's a picture before the freeze....

And after the freeze....

I would keep an eye on your branches. Sometimes they get tip rot after a freeze (in which case you want to cut immediately to white wood to avoid it getting further down). The pod will be as ok as the branch is....

Last year the cold came really early before i would let them freeze I would dig them up and store them somewhere bare root. I dug up over 50 they faired well flowered late there still flowering right now. During the summer months I buy cheap blankets anything cheap I can cover plants with

Are you sure the btanches are frozen? It may be that just the leaves have frost burn. If the branches are firm and not mushy, they may be o.k. and the pod, as well. I have some plants that I didn't cover well and that is what happened to them - just the leaves received frost damage.

I am hopeful that the leaves are just burned - the tips of the branches are still green, as are the stems of some leaves. So even though the leaves are sagging and black they are still hanging on to my plants. Very strange. At least it got rid of the rust problem!
