I can check mine tomorrow I know it had babies but I'm not sure since our weather got cold
I can wait til Spring, if need be. I'm just learning about these things, so thanks for the input, blomma.
I just want to know there are some out there somewhere for me!! : )
always Tracey! and thanks blomma, cause I didn't know that either, usually I grow them in the house and this year I planted them outside for the first time
Blomma is right, bad time to transplant if you are going to plant outside. A number of us H&C nuts trade in the spring. There are also some good sales that happen during the warmer weather. If you have a really bright light source for the winter, you could grow them indoors after a trade, but it is just easier and safer to do it in the spring.
A second reason is that plant colors are not at their best at the moment. The will turn redder for the winter (if outside and dormant), then start to show off when growth starts as the weather breaks.
trinawitch, daisylovn You are welcome. Actually, Semps do not make good houseplants since they grow lanky unless full sun outside. The rosette tends to become much looser, rather than tight. Also, it is the change in seasons that produces their beautiful colors. May and June, generally are the best months for colors for most Semps. There are exceptions, ofcourse. I have some varieties that are at their best late summer.
Not all, but some do turn dark red to maroon over the winter when grown outside. However most remain green when dormant.
There are hundreds of different varieties of hybrid Semps. Below is part of my collection of 90+ varieties---a mere drop in the bucket. Photo taken June 21, 09. They are truly garden gems.

Blomma, You really shouldn't have shown me that!!! lol. They are just beautiful. I have a full sun bed that I would like to fill up with those!!!
Can I get with you in the spring on a trade or purchase?
when in the house mine sit in 5' by 9' picture windows that face due east which is probably why mine don't get lanky, I just have an issue with the passie's trying to over take thier pots
