Coryphantha cornifera (bought as Coryphantha radians) in my garden

This photo shows a young and crippled plant and therefore is no help for ID. Also there is no Cory cornifera subsp. radians. Most likely is a real C. radians or a C. echinus.

Coryphantha radians is a synonym of C. cornifera ssp. radians (originally labeled as radians). Why my photo should be helpful for ID if it's already identified? (now it growed and turned to be variegated, aaaargh)

It depends which taxonomist one is following. E. Anderson, Backeberg et al. regard C. radians as species of its own, while Dicht&Lüthy lump it (with many other 'species') under the name C. cornifera.
Photos here in PF can help others IDing their plants... and for this purpose the photos depict the species in a as much as possible typical (for cultivation or in habitat) shape.

The PlantFiles endeavors to reflect the most recent taxonomy because it is the result of the recent field studies and genetic analysis. Anderson (2001) lists it as a separate species (C. radians). Roughly 90-95% of the PlantFiles has been constructed using Anderson (2001) as a model. But I have noticed that there are some instances where the taxonomy has been updated according to Hunt (2007)

Jordi or others, I don't have the New Cactus Lexicon 2007 by Hunt, if you have it, how does Hunt list it?

That's what D. Hunt thinks of it:

Okay....

Jordi, what does Hunt (2007) say about Coryphantha delicata?

According to Anderson, it is a synonym of C. radians.

Also here D. Hunt isn't quite sure where to place it:

He's doubting it, but still presently listing it as a species, isn't he?
