Anyone seen this type of insect in your filter mats?
I cleaned out the skimmer at work because we were having problems with the debris (a little jerry-rigging this year) and when I took out the filter mat I found hundreds - LITERALLY - of these insects.
Anyone?
Some green and some orange.
They look like the larvae of some type of water insect. Probably two types since two colors. I'd post on the Insect ID thread. Someone there will know!
dragonfly larvae probably!
I also believe that the are larva, but my thoughts are that they are male and female because they are almost identical except their color. Although ... grubs can look very VERY similar and transform into very different insects.
