Just finished loading the Plumeria & Brugmansia houses. We have many many cuttings of Brugmansias, mixed I have no idea what they are from..... Most are nice sized 2' and up. There is no rush they are rooting down in the Plumeria house in an aquarium. Talk about fast rooting.
If anyone is interested in a cutting or 2 let me know I'm in Fort Worth.
The Brug house is a temporary house 20X10 we cover with marine shrink wrap, have used many different methods to skin this house and hands down this is the best material I have found to date. It takes our extremes in temp., 95 one day 20 the next. Last year we were not out there in freezing rain re-taping this or that. The winds we experienced last year did not faze this material...
Brugmansia Cuttings
do you have a pic of your shrink-wrap gh?
If you will go over to my blog that I started you will see some pics of the material & some interior pics. I also use foam board insulation around the bottom 2 & 4 feet of the greenhouse for additional frost protection. If we are going to have an Ice issue or extremely low temp we have a pool cover that can insulate the entire structure. This year only shrink wrap unless needed. I have a bunch of new pics and info to add so in the next few days the blog will be updated. The SW is clear!!!!

thanks for link...I really like the insulation board....might have to get some before DH gets back to town and nixes it....I'll have to show him the shrink-wrap idea.....looks like it might work for us next year.
Your welcome we just finished all the seams 2 people 2 hours super simple. Now I need to go hook the heat & fans up in both houses and we are good to go. The 2ft freeze line seems to make a greenhouse more vulnerable, the foam board really helps that. White side out silver inside that reflects and insulates the heat. The foam board we have had for years, we zippie tie & use washers/nuts to anchor it together. Store it in the summer and pull it back out the next year. Another thing that impresses me about the SW is the fluid nature of it. Meaning after all winter it is still soft & supple to work with. We used some of last years material on this years house, frankly could not tell the difference. I believe the life is for 5 years UV protection against breakdown. The way we put it up this year the cover should be completely reusable.
I just looked up marine shrink wrap. I think I can sell the shrink wrap to my DH, who is NOT a gardener, but he would choke on the price of the heat guns! LOL. Looks like the perfect solution for my single plant greenhouse.
cocobid, where did you get the shrink wrap? The ones I looked at had a 9 month warranty.
I found some cheaper alternatives on this website. You could always tell DH your blow dryer cratered and you had to replace it..........hmmmm?

I'll have to look at the box tomorrow. All we use in a 40ish dollar heat gun. It was my Fathers at least 15 years old. The SW is actually less expensive than a big box 6ml. What really sold me....seals that hold. Built my first greenhouse in 1975 have run the gamut of different frames and coverings. This GH must be temporary due to space. Once seal is made the greenhouse is tight. There's a lot of folks switching to this as a covering. If this could be a permanent house single or double walled polycarb. For Texas weather this stuff is great. The covering is not attached to any wood or anchoring in any way except some bricks around the base. The sheer tightness of the material holds. If your up this way your welcome to come over and see it!!! Plus pick up some Brugssssss.
Oh I am so glad I popped into the forums tonight!!
My portable Gh that my folks got me the first year we were here in Texas is falling apart from dry rot with the Texas sun.
DH put 4 posts in the ground next to it thinking of making me a new one more permanent but that is as far as he got with it and I have thought it would be even better if we made it the size of the portable one plus the posts and what I see on your blog would work great for this year to get things started since he didn't bring my plumies in from the GH when I was in San Antonio the weekend of the snow...sigh
I'm just hoping they will make it since they were in the GH
Thanks for sharing your info and your blog !!!!!
