Too bad this is a private botanical garden. I'd love to see it!! Only 15 hour drive from my house!! I'm sure it would be well worth the trip!

A fantastic web site, check it out.
I promise you will enjoy visiting the Exotic Rainforest in person. The Lucas family will invite you with open-arm's even on a short notice. Be prepared to stay for a while if you admire the Araceae family of plant's as I do because Steve Lucas is full of knowledge concerning such.
The Wizard will be the first to greet you as you enter.
That's awesome. I would love to see their place. If only I time and money I would have such a fantastic garden and GH! I think I have to get some of the Livingearth CD's that they link to. That would be so cool broadcasting through my yard.

I can't go and physically visit the place, but I often do a cyber visit.
I've been to the website several times and always enjoy it.
I just placed a nice order - can't wait to get the plants. I already grow several of the plants he has, but he has some I've been looking for, so I am excited to get them.
I thought they don't sell plants? It says so several times on the first page....???
Oops, I posted on the wrong thread - sorry! I actually placed an order from TopTropicals.
I recieved a nice email from Steve at ExoticRainforrest. He was very happy to see so many hits to his website as a result of my post and says he like so show his little piece of heaven to anyone who would like to visit he just asks for some warning so he know when to expect visitors, that's a very reasonable request. I also got an email from a friend of his, who is not a registered member of Dave's, who asked that I post his email here for everyone to see. I did ask him to please join us here, but here is his email....
Roxxanne-
You posted on a Dave's Garden forum about the exotic rainforest private garden (www.exoticrainforest.com). I am not a subscribing member of DG, so I couldn't post a reply, but I'm sending you this message instead.
I just wanted to let you know that Steve Lucas is the owner of that garden and is a good friend of mine. Even though the garden is a private garden, it is open to the public and also it is FREE! That's better than most public botanical gardens. :)
Steve is a great guy and loves to give tours of his tropical atrium, which is a small jungle - about 24' square. He asks that you give him a day's notice so that he knows when to expect you, but he loves to give tours (and also plant cuttings) to those who come. His email and phone number are on the website.
If you could post this information as a reply to the thread, I would appreciate it - and so would Steve.
Take care-
Zach
Oh yeah! I've had this guys site in my favorites for a while, although I was surprised to see he had moved when I checked on it earlier this year. Great green houses. and instructions on how he built them
