I thought my AV was about to open about 4 blooms and now they are all drooping. Leaves still look healthy but I'm losing all my buds.
Blooms are Dying
If the stems are shriveled the plants may have gotten to dry. Also check for little hopping black bugs on the soil or blooms. These are thrips and often cause bud blast.

No little black bugs on the plant and I changed the soil last night and saw none. I thought perhaps more light or more humidity?? I've been watering every 3-4 days by setting it in a tray of H20 for 30 minutes. and plan on making a little gravel tray to up the humidity.
are the buds actually dropping off the plant?
no they were pointing out and i thought they were going to open, and now they are all limp and hanging down right where the bud connects to the stem. the stems themselves are still strong and up and the leaves still look and feel good. it's just the buds.
I don't know much at all about this but I have an AV that starts out with the buds high then they droop then they open all the while drooping. It's like the plant isn't able to support the blooms when they get a certain size and they lay across the leaves. Have any of them opened? This plant also seems to take weeks for the darn blooms to open!
Are there any fumes nearby, such as a gas stove or any cool breezes? I am just running thoughts through my head.
No it's on a corner stand in my living room. Opposite side of the room and 90 degree angle from the front door and kitchen door is on the opposite side of the wall it's against. No windows along that section. I open the blinds by the front door and the light carries over to the plant stand quite nicely except for the last few days that have been cloudy.
I will keep thinking.Other possibilities are low humidity, too much heat,or too much or too little light. You also may notice a change now that you have repotted them.
Here AVs do fine without pebbles, but you may live in an area of very dry heat.I'm not familiar with West Columbia.I know San Antonio and Dallas are fairly humid, but places like Taft and Bastrop often have very dry heat.
I'm 30 minutes from the gulf of mexico and about 45 minutes from houston. It gets humid. especialy during the summer, then it's just plain nasty, but the job offer was too good to turn down so I moved here, lol.
I've been moving it into the window during the day this week (it's been cloudy and not getting any light through the blinds to the plant stand) and have covered it with a ziploc bag to up humidity. Hope I know what I'm doing.
Just make sure the bag is not totally sealed and lets in plenty of air. That could cause rot in a hurry if the soil is wet or sun shines on the bag.
