Another Marica Geiger yummy!
DRAGON COOKIES
3/4 cup butter-flavored Crisco
1 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 TBS.milk
1 TBS vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Combine: Crisco,brown sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer at medium speed until smooth and creamy. Beat egg into creamed mixture. Combine dry ingredients and mix into creamed mixture until just blended. Stir in the chips and nuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoons of dough, about 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for 9-12 minutes for chewy cookies or 12-15 minutes for crisp cookies. Do not overbake!
Cool several minutes before removing from cookie sheets. Yields 4-5 dozen
Note: For a totally new experience substitute I cup white baking chips for the chocolate. I always use walnuts with these cookies. They do not stay around very long!!!!
Note: For a Deeper chocolate experience, when I use the semi-sweet chocolate, I added some chopped bittersweet chocolate with the chip to make the 1 cup--measure
