CLOSED: Snow Goose?

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Spotted this goose among the dozens of visiting Canada's (and Ibis) at the neighborhood pond.
My first impulse was Snow Goose? But they are "rare", even in migration in our area (S.C. coastal plain)
Anyone know for sure?
Thanks!

Not for sure on this one, but it matches up well with Snow Goose (Blue Morph) in my field guide, also show's they can be found on the east coast along North and South Carolina.

Yep, blue phase Snow Goose. Could be a wild bird arrived with the Canadas, but there's always the possibility it jumped out of someone's collection of captive birds. Telling which won't be easy - it'll pick up its cues on how wary of people to be from the Canadas it is with.

Thanks to you both.

Resin, it seemed to arrive along with this group of Canadas, but you never know. I know it wasn't having any success making friends with them.

Burd, my field guide is 20 years old; maybe their migration patterns have changed a bit since then. Yours may actually be up to date and not as "vintage" as mine. :)
